It’s that time of the year!! Everything pumpkin spice, sweaters galore, and the perfect temperature to sit outside with a cup of something warm. The AC slowly being replaced with open windows in the Autumn afternoons. And a simmering pot of cinnamon sticks and orange peels on the stovetop, scent the house in the evenings. Leaves changing colors and the wind blowing a bit colder. A picture perfect view everywhere you turn. Doesn’t all that just sound wonderful? What’s there not to love?
A beautiful transition from half naked on a beach to layering clothes for the cold mornings, warm afternoons, and freezing nights. Waking up with the sun later each day and awake for the moon higher in the night sky. The trees aware they can soon rest but not before they express their vibrant yellows and oranges welcoming Autumn into its season.
Doesn’t that just sound so inviting? The end of September opens the gate for a different world to emerge overnight just for all of us to stop and enjoy. It doesn’t only provide an extra hour in the day, it also sets the scene for self-love and acceptance. The mood to spin around in a circle until the world begins to blur. You lose your balance and fall to the ground only to lie there on your back. Stuck in a trance, watching as the leaves dance and fall around you accepting you for who you are.
What Calls to You on These Autumn Afternoons?
If this doesn’t excite you to go outside, I don’t know what will. The sun during this time heals differently than its Winter or Summer sun. The Autumn sun may shine similar to Spring but the warmth comforts more when the breeze is colder. As if a warm embrace from your loved one you wish to hug again. A soothing feeling so missed and forgotten, tears are not unexpected.
There’s a season for everyone. I thrive this time of year. For my usual lack of interaction with the masses, I can enjoy myself more knowing the sun and moon are helping. They pull my internal fight out into the world for me to face. A steadiness kept in preparation for the long winter ahead where internalizing becomes dominate once again. I struggle with my side of balanced compassion and empathy butting heads with my side of extreme emotions and intensity.
The Autumn afternoons spent outside in its sun heats an unstoppable drive for all to witness. Worries and doubts are all exposed and vanquished. The struggle lessened and stabilizing, so much so, it is noticeable the difference in the way I hold my head up and walk a bit taller. Nothing can stand in my way, I move forward fearless because the sun positioned in Libra helps provide the necessary mindset to believe it so.
Sun in Libra and Moon in Aries
We will all be affected in our own ways. This moon in Aries strengthens our backs to stand and lead ourselves to a much needed victory. Speaking out to defend ourselves or causing chaos to release it all. As the moon fades for the day, the sun appears with a softness to have us apologize for being unbearable all night. That is the power of the sun in Libra to help bring justice to extreme behaviors the Aries moon is going to cause.
Opposite signs, Aries is all about the “me” while Libra is about the “we”. As they coexist, for the next couple of days, we will all be in for a wild transformation. October 18th, 19th, and 20th will shed some light on what you hold back. Allow it to do so. It is here to free you of some weight you probably didn’t know existed. Do not try to control the outrageous behavior during the full moon because that is what the sun is for. The moment it drapes you in it’s warm silk of calmness you will find it in yourself to apologize to those you may have accidentally traumatized but not regret the lightness it provided you.
Whoever your person or people of choice will be know by the end of the day you will be closer than ever. A stronger bond will form as well as a better understanding of one another as individuals. This will show you who is worthy of keeping around. Do not feel alarmed if you wake up the next day feeling better and with someone less in your circle. Just remember change attracts change. If you grow these next couple of days you will not be dragging behind those who did not get the memo. They will catch up when they are ready so move forward.
Self-love and Acceptance
Go outside. Breath in the cool air. Wait a moment and take it all in. Autumn gifts us with it’s breeze and it will clean off what we allow it to. Take advantage of these Autumn afternoons now while it still holds Summer’s warmth. Take a walk in a local park. Sit by a river or lake. Embrace what the world provides you this time of year.
Alone or with the company of another, enjoy this weather wrapped in yarn garments or jean materials. Reflect back the colors seen around by wearing browns and oranges in honor of Autumn. Go apple and pumpkin picking and join in the harvest. Make pies with your yield or decorate your home with creative cravings.
When you surround yourself with the purest feel of Autumn you are feeding your soul a warmer love. Because you are not doing this for anyone else but for you. This is the time to gather all you have grown and bask in it. Be proud of where you are and how far you have gotten. Enjoy your company with yourself before you bring others in. For once you can appreciate yourself, a new sense of love will be remembered or felt for the first time. That is self-love. Accept it and hold on to it because with it you can face the world with a greater understanding. And you can allow outsiders in without abandoning yourself along the way.
