He and she live two different lives in the same world with two different mindsets. They both understand everything yet nothing to it’s full compacity. They grow in this world together yet so far apart that their encounter seems unlikely. But only time will tell if they’ll cross paths as they did before in other life times before this.

He and She
He sees but doesn’t know what’s happening. He’s there but not mentally prepared for the reality surrounding him. Unaware of the evil walking along side each person in passing and he’ll never grasp that concept. He doesn’t see the bad because he isn’t looking for it. That’s why he can continue in the world unaffected and oblivious.
She, on the other hand, sees the bad in everyone. Because she knows the existence of evil that lives in all of us. She doesn’t purposefully search for the bad in anyone. It naturally shows itself and frightens the hell out of her. The outcome, she doesn’t trust and learns the hard way that among the evil there are good people. All walk with different sized darkness, and those who are equally aware of their own could, in fact, be trusted.
Trust in Others
He doesn’t worry about how other people see him. Asking for help with no shame, he keeps moving forward until someone can assist him. He knows what he wants and stays persistent. But keeps in the back of his mind that he can’t ask them again, in the near future. He carries trust that he will be fine because people exist who enjoy his time. His trust in others seems to resemble the search for an ATM machine linked directly to his bank so there’s no extra charge fees.
Meanwhile for her, she struggled to find someone reliable. She doesn’t keep her circle big and knows the respected amount each could assist her. Even then the guilt of even considering to ask for help eats at her. She has slight trust issues with herself. Not wanting to be rejected when she was relied on successfully before. Why bother allowing someone to know your weakness and them not even know how to solve it? Unnecessary worry they’ll share your confidence for all to use against you in due time. No thank you, in advance, she’d rather avoid it all together.
Light and Dark
He doesn’t know the difference of good and bad in people since for him all have a purpose. Each person walks with a skill, attribute and level above their head of how useful they are to him. The moment a person’s list grows too long and they get too close, for his own safety, he withdraws and distance himself from them. His only concern is himself and how far along he can get “on his own”.
She can see the line that divides each person’s light and dark. She can tell who is trying and who has given up. And when she looks in the mirror for long periods of time she can only hope to see how far along she’s come. But nothing. So she continues to do what is right and keeps evil thoughts in her mind never to be acted upon, usually. She does her best most days and tries to keep her unseen line centered for the most part. Hyper aware of her actions and the reactions of those around her, helps gauge right and wrong, good and evil, and seemingly forces her view of a balance line of light and dark inside her.
Their Awareness
There is no light or dark to be seen or understood by him. He plays the game differently than her and he believes life is just that, a game to be won. He is player one and everyone else is just part of the simulation he was thrown into. And if he ever saw her, will he think she is just another NPC (non-playable character) to provide sides quests, hinderance, and help along her adventure through life?
She is a main character among other main characters. She is fully aware each person thinks and has their own understanding of their world and how they should live it. There’s no need for her to believe otherwise since her gift allows her to see their balance line. She finds herself in the middle of busy places watching each individual pass knowing full well some smile to hind their pain, and other’s can’t help showing their togetherness in each step taken. She understands she is a background character in most of everyone’s life but to her it’s okay to share the stage. Especially when he sits right next to her
He and She Meet
He’s just one person. Too consumed with his own life and actions he never once saw her. He’s in his own world playing for bragging rights no one else knew was a prize to win. He has no desire to interact with stranger unless he’s in need of something. He sits their beside her on his phone looking up where he should go next. Unaware his next adventure would consist of a player two ready to guild him along the way until the end.
She saw him. She looked over at him and couldn’t help but smile. No instant love at first sight but an instant acknowledgment of his existence she had never really given thought of as much in the past. She wanted to interact with him. She wanted to ask his name and how he was doing. Because never in the past did she ever see a line so perfectly in the middle as his. From the moment he walked over and sat down to the moment he stood up and looked around about to leave.
“Excuse me, sir.” she couldn’t help but blurt out. “Hi, may I ask where you’re headed. Maybe I can assist.”
He turned back to see her sitting there with her red curly hair, freckles dotted all over her face and her light eyes looking at him. “Hi,” was all he could mutter before he realized he was staring too long and said, “that would be nice, I’m looking for a café. Do you happen to know of one near by?” He almost waited long enough for her to respond before he asked, “and would you like to accompany me? My treat.”
She smiled showing her teeth trying not to laugh at how direct he asked. She stood up and they continued to talk walking together to a near by café she had never been to but heard good things about. They learned of one another’s names and reasoning for sitting in the same place. And the whole time they both felt as if they met once before never mentioning it to the other.
Thank You!
Thank you for reading this updated version of another journal entry I wrote in my teenage years. It’s been fun looking through my old stuff and reading the stories my younger imagination came up with. Writing helps get me back into an artsy mode and explore, expose and release certain stagnate thoughts that no longer hold purpose. Now I’m just waiting to get back into drawing again so I can add my own illustrations to these stories. Eventually…
I’d like to thank you all again for reading my post and until next time, I hope you have a beautiful day and enjoy this lovely weather!!
